In 2013, NASD PLC obtained the license to operate the over-the-counter (OTC) market. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rule that the securities of unlisted public companies can only be traded on an SEC-registered exchange has given the over-the-counter market a boost, creating more liquidity on the capital market because small and large companies can have access to fundraising by entering the over-the-counter market. The market for the trading of unlisted public enterprises has seen significant growth, most recently a 21% increase in its market capitalization from the fourth quarter of 2020 to the third quarter of 2021. The over-the-counter market is the point of view where shareholders of unlisted public companies and investors conduct transactions.

NASD PLC provides the perfect platform through its exchange, which has morphed, exploring more possibilities for creating liquidity in the capital market and improving the economy through its vast service offerings. We are committed to the economic and social growth of our great nation, Nigeria.

On this special day, NASD PLC wishes Nigerians a happy celebration of 61st independence.
